PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Mr. Rueb began his legal career as a Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney prosecuting criminals and developing his trial skills.

In 1992 Mr. Rueb joined the Law Firm of Gordon, DeFraga, Watrous, and Pezzaglia where he became one of the youngest partners in the firm’s history. After successful tenure at the firm where he rapidly rose to the top-earner position focusing his work on personal injury and wrongful death, he left in 2003 to establish his own practice.

Having tried more than 75 jury trials with only one loss, he has established himself as a strong trial attorney and hard-nosed negotiator. During his 25 year legal career, he has successfully represented thousands of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, mass tort, and personal injury claimants, taken and defended over 750 expert and witness depositions, reviewed over 10,000 medical files, participated in over 500 mediations, and successfully recovered over $30,000,000 for his clients.

Mr. Rueb presently serves as leader on a number of complex consolidated mass torts as a member of the executive committees, plaintiff steering committees and subcommittees. He represents tens of thousands of plaintiffs in the BP Oil spill litigation, and has received numerous accolades from his peers and clients as a top lawyer nationwide.

He has served on campaign and finance committees for six different candidates running for countywide elections. Furthermore, he has lectured on personal injury law and mass tort law and has received numerous community awards.

EDUCATION

Mr. Rueb is a 1991 graduate of the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Prior to which he completed a B.S. in biology with an emphasis in chemistry from University of Pacific.

PERSONAL

Mr. Rueb lives in the East Bay Area, is married and has three teenaged children. He has been an avid Golden State Warrior and a San Jose Shark season ticket holder for over 25 years; enjoys coaching, playing with and raising his children, plays on a multi-championship bocce team, and actively engages in regular exercise, including golf, tennis and mountain biking.
